The Great Front Range Circle Tour

                       1 August 2010 8:30 AM

Welcome to 155 miles of some of the finest driving the front range of the Colorado Rockies has to offer. For the next several hours you will travel alone back roads on both sides of the front range and enjoy speeds that our “T” cars love. With the exception of a few places, the road speeds will not be posted higher than 60 MPH and the traffic should be just right for enjoying this fine Colorado scenery. The tour has been organized to provide a lazy day of driving and the ability to stop along the way to enjoy the many fine vistas that your camera will be able to record for “T” memories.

This tour will complete a circle from the Mineral RTD Park and Ride, in Littleton , at South Santa Fe and Mineral Ave., west through the foothills and south along the South Platte River to Woodland Park . There will be coffee stops prior to lunch in Woodland Park , and also during the drive on the eastern side of the front range, from Colorado Springs back to the starting point at the Mineral RTD Park and Ride.

The tour is designed to accommodate attendees from anywhere along the route and all members of our RMMGTR are encouraged to take part. You are welcome to join at any point along the way and encouraged to use the directions provided to trace the route on your map to determine where you would join the group. For our many members in the Colorado Springs area and in Monument, and other spots along the route, there will be the decision on where to join the group. Jim Goodwin, in Colorado Springs has indicated he will arrange to gather the members in the area at a meeting point and drive along the planned route to Littleton to joint the northern members at the Mineral starting point. The idea is for all to have a good day of driving with little pressure, but to enjoy.
